Police Working 10-Hour Shifts |
On April 14, 2008 the Police Patrol Division started working 10-Hour Shifts. There are several overlapping shifts within a 24-hour period, which means there are more officers on patrol during the overlap periods. Thus, more of the City is being patrolled simultaneously which will help deter crimes such as burglaries, robberies, etc. Police is also available to investigate suspicious activities. The Police Department will be more proactive rather than reactive. The shift change was done in an effort to make our City a safer place in which to live, work and own a business. With the South Houston Police Department, citizens and business owners working together, we can create a safer environment for all. Citizens and business owners are encouraged to call the Police Department with regard to any crimes and/or suspicious activities that may be occurring in their areas. |
