Citizens Academy?
The South Houston
Citizens Police Academy is a 12-week course of study. Classes meet
one night a week for two hours. The instruction is comprehensive,
covering a different area of the South Houston Police Department
each week.
What is the purpose?
The South Houston citizen police academy was established in order
to promote a better understanding of the South Houston Police Department.
Cadets will get a first hand look behind the scenes of how your
Police Department operates. One of the goals of this program is
through education you will be able to make informed judgments about
your police department and its activities. The Police Department
intern will become more aware of the feelings and concerns of the
community.
Who may attend?
Classes are made up of a cross section of the community. Applicants
must either reside or own a business in South Houston and be 21
years old.
